La Lumiere School is located near the southern shores and dunes of Lake Michigan, between the historic cities of La Porte and Michigan City, Indiana, and five miles south of New Buffalo, Michigan and Harbor Country.

La Lumiere School is easily accessible from Chicago, South Bend, Indiana and Southwestern Michigan.  Located about 60 miles east of Chicago, the school is in close proximity to nearby universities including, the University of Notre Dame, St. Mary’s College, Valparaiso University and Purdue University North Central.

La Lumiere’s shares the same time zone as Chicago; Central Daylight Savings.  Our neighbors in South Bend and Michigan are one hour ahead, in the Eastern time zone.

There’s a great deal to do when visiting our corner of Northwest Indiana and the area.  The great outdoors are amazing—from Lake Michigan sights, lighthouses, sandy beaches, and dunes to orchard trips and bicycle tours.
